Who do these hands belong to?
Tallulah, Retail Assistant
What is your role at Natalie Marie Jewellery and how long have you been part of the team?
My role involves working in our beautiful showroom, where I help customers, manage online enquiries and assist the rest of the lovely NMJ team! Being in the showroom means I get to spend a lot of time with our customers, and it is so rewarding helping them find a special piece, whether it be wedding bands, engagement rings or a birthday present. Being a part of these special events in peoples lives is definitely a highlight of the role!
Describe a typical day for you?
Arriving at work to be greeted by the team all busy making their tea and coffee, and… usually wondering what cake I have brought with me! From there I get our showroom ready for the day, accompanied by Buddy the bulldog. On a day to day basis, I am helping customers, replying to emails, assisting the lovely Em & Nat and of course working alongside our amazing Customer Service Manager, Erin. My afternoons involve catching up on admin work, making sure the showroom is looking beautiful and trying to resist the 3pm chocolates that Dan drops off for the NMJ team.
What is your most treasured piece of jewellery?
I adore vintage pieces and couldn’t stop wearing the Wilhelmina while setting up and packing down. Needless to say, I now get to wear it every day, and have my first heirloom for my future family.
What is your favourite Natalie Marie piece?
I can’t narrow it down to one, however, if I had to pick a few it would be our Organic Band, our Precious Trio Oval Stone Wrap Ring in the Rutilated Quartz and our Willow Signet with a diamond!
When did you first come across Natalie Marie Jewellery?
I bought the Organic band from Splice boutique in Avalon a few years ago, then went down the rabbit hole.
Where would we find you on the weekend?
Down at Bilgola beach having a swim or hanging with my dog, Archie… and also the occasional Margy at Alma’s or Donny’s Bar.
Coffee or tea? How do you take it?
Coffee! With some soy milk.
Beach, city or mountains?
Mountains, nothing beats seeing snow-capped mountains and that humbling feeling which accompanies it.
What inspires you?
Everyday people, who are trying to make a positive difference to our world, whether it be on a small or large scale, and also Alan Watts, he was a brilliant philosopher!
If you could live anywhere else, apart from Sydney, where would you be living?
Wanaka, New Zealand.
If you were not working at NMJ, what would you be doing?
Working for an NGO that enables you to travel and help whatever cause your fighting for.
What are you currently reading?
Jane Eyre.
Describe your perfect day...
A morning swim and coffee, walks with my dog, pondering in Bookoccino or Haven and Sarah in Avalon, and an afternoon drink with the girls.
Describe yourself in 3 words...
Grounded, Sincere, Caring.
What is your favourite daily ritual?
My morning swim.
What are you most grateful for?
Where I live, the people that provided it for me, and the ones I share it with.
What's the best piece of advice you've been given?
Two roads diverged in a wood and I took the one less travelled by, and that has made all the difference - Robert Frost.
What is your least known talent?
Not so much a talent, but I am an avid coin collector with a pretty good collection!
What is on your wishlist right now?
Alaska!
What is your favourite gemstone?
I would have to say sapphires.
