Who do these hands belong to?
Hi there, I’m Isabella or better known as Bella round the NMJ office!

What is your role at Natalie Marie Jewellery and how long have you been on the team?

I’m the hands you see on our Instagram, trying on all of our special treasures, styling up stacks and answering your questions. More officially known as our Social Media Coordinator + Content Creator. I’ve been a part of the team for a little bit over a year now, which has just flown by.

Describe a typical day for you?

Wildly amazing, creative, and filled with collaboration. No two days are ever the same, which makes every day feel like it’s my first, however with each I feel more confident! I could be in the showroom shooting content, collaborating with our brand manager on new social concepts, replying to our clients ever so beautiful imagery or planning out my Instagram grid – with the one constant being, that its always creative. Without fail, I start each day with my team getting a coffee whilst having a debrief of all the things and can’t live without a fizzy water on my desk at all times.Tell us, what part of your job fills you with joy?

Seeing how NMJ has become a part of so many stories will never lose its magical spark! From hearing how love stories have grown, to the magic of a Christmas proposal or the sentimental touches our clients add to their pieces to represent a loved one, is so heart-warming. Looking through our client’s images is always my favourite part, once they land in my inbox, I can’t take my eyes off those precious moments filled with love.

What advice would you give your past self?

Don't let perfect get in the way of good - just trust yourself, as it will take you places!

If you could live anywhere else apart from Sydney, where would you be living?

Hmmm tough one, can I say a piece of everywhere? I am originally from London, so I would love to go back and do a few years abroad not only working but exploring, learning, and experiencing what it has to offer. But… I am always drawn to Rome, but maybe that is my love for Aperol Spritzes calling!Where would we find you on the weekend? How do you unwind?

If it’s a sunny day, then most definitely at the beach with my partner, a good book, and a dip in the ocean. Or if I’m lucky, taking a trip out on the water to Palm Beach to look at the seals sun baking, they make me so happy.

Who do you admire most in the world?

So hard to pick, but it would have to be the women in my life, more specifically my mum, Jane. Who sadly endured a lot of loss this past year but has taught not only myself but my three other siblings, that love will live on in the toughest of times. She is our guiding light, with her positive outlook on life outshining the darkest moments, which I am so grateful to have in my corner.

What are you most proud of in the last year?

Tough one, this past year has been such a growth filled year, full of ups and downs! A moment I am proud of, was completing my double degree which in turn landed me my position here at NMJ. I pushed myself to take a leap into the unknown, which has resulted in such a rewarding year with so many exciting opportunities to come.

What quote do you live by?

Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars. This has stuck by me through all of life’s ups and downs, it is what my mum tells me before embarking on any type of new endeavour.

What’s the best holiday you have ever taken? And where to next?

I was lucky to travel around Europe in 2018 with my twin sister and close friends, which holds a special place in my heart! It was such a beautiful experience, getting to explore different cities, go on new adventures with those I love and eat so many delicious meals. Talking about Europe, I will be heading back to London for Christmas this year to see my loved ones, which is something I am so grateful for and cannot wait for all the adventures to come!

Most treasured piece of jewellery?

Tough one! It wouldn’t be a piece I wear, but one that my mum does. Our late Grandad’s diamond signet ring, which reminds me of not only him but his outlook on life – to never take things so seriously. One day I hope to hold onto this precious piece, and wear it as a symbol of our relationship, and as a reminder that he is always with me and probably off telling a bunch of ridiculous jokes somewhere.

How would your closest friends describe you?

A bit weird in a wonderful way, positive and a go-getter. Well, that’s how I’d hope they see me!

If you were not working at NMJ, what would you be doing?

Tricky one! I think I would be teaching design at high school, as I can’t see myself steering away from the endless possibilities of being creative on and offline! Teaching runs through many generations of our family, with my twin sister now also becoming a teacher, a part of me wonders what it’s really like!
