What is your role at Natalie Marie Jewellery and how long have you been on the team?
I am part of the retail team. I’ve been with Natalie Marie for 3 or so months! Still very fresh.
When did you first come across Natalie Marie Jewellery?
I first came across Nat & Dan when they had a small studio behind the shop where I used to work.. they would come in store and chat often. It was nice getting to know them as people and then figuring out that they owned an amazing little brand that I’m now a part of.
Describe a typical day for you?
Every morning I’m up around 6.30 getting coffee from a friend who makes coffee out of his combi on the headland at Avalon, then usually breakfast with friends, straight to work, my days in the showroom usually consist of a lot of little jobs as well as meeting with customers, which I love, so I’m busy all day. I’m lucky I live 3 minutes from work, so I can head home quickly once the day is done!
Most treasured piece of jewellery?
I have this beautiful signet ring that was my grandmothers. It has her initials on it, and a diamond on the side. Its so beautiful and holds a lot of meaning for my family.
What is your favourite Natalie Marie piece?
The Kalani necklace, and studs are next on my list! Also the diamond wrap ring.
Where would we find you on the weekend? How do you unwind?
I guess it depends on the season. When its warm and sunny I’m always at the beach, or near the water. I think growing up locally means that always our go to. I can’t say no to a breakfast, lunch or dinner, usually at Alma next door to the shop, so realistically you’ll probably find me there with a margarita in hand.
Coffee or Tea? How do you take it?
Coffee, latte. (multiple)
Beach, city or mountains?
Beach definitely, mountains as a close second.
What inspires you?
I’m inspired a lot by my family, mostly because of the people they are – which has helped me decide on the person I want to be. Also by the many creatives that surround me.
If you could live anywhere else, apart from Sydney, where would it be?
Italy! I spent 3 weeks there recently and fell in love with Florence.
If you were not working at NMJ, what would you be doing?
Probably continuing my architecture degree… although hard to say because I so often change my mind. I’m so happy with where I’m at right now though.
What are you currently reading?
Reading ‘Three Women’ by Lisa Taddeo currently. I’m an avid reader so go through books pretty quickly.
Describe your perfect day….
Early morning coffee on the headland.. breakfast at a little café in clarevile, beach & a book.
Describe yourself in 5 words…
Intuitive, empathetic, amiable, motivated and imaginative.
What kind of challenges do you like to set yourself in life?
Both in life, and in work, I like to make sure I am supporting the people around me – in all environments this always does nothing but encourage each other and makes everyone work better as a team. I like to make sure that I do everything I can to the best of my ability, but also know my boundaries and try not to be hard on myself.
What is your favourite daily ritual?
6.30 coffee from Classic Coffee, watching the sun come up.
What are you most grateful for?
Friends and family always, without them I wouldn’t be half way to where I am today.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?
Be the one who cares. Be the one who makes the effort. The smallest gesture can be the biggest gesture in someone else’s life.
What is your least known talent?
I have particularly neat handwriting.
What is on your wish list right now?
If I had anymore fingers to put rings on, I’d be buying myself another signet probably.
What is your favourite gemstone?
