The Golden Wattle Returns

As you may know, in January this year, we created our Golden Wattle Pendant in response to the Australian Bushfire Crisis. Our aim was not only to raise funds for the communities and wildlife that needed it the most, but also to create a lasting symbol of hope and unity. We donated the materials and our team’s time to every single purchase, and passed on 100% of the proceeds to @redcrossau and @wires. Together, we were able to donate over $124,000 to these crisis relief charities.

The response to our Golden Wattle Pendant was overwhelming. To know that so many others like us were feeling helpless, but also desperately wanting to help out, left us humbled and reaffirmed the reason why we do what we do, creating pieces of sentiment.

We always knew we wanted to relaunch this pendant but we wanted to wait until the time was right. Here we are, five months later, again faced with a crisis that is leaving many of us helpless but united in hope.

Like so many small businesses, we have been greatly affected by the current global climate - financially, emotionally and mentally.  In such trying times, we are so very proud to relaunch a limited number of Golden Wattle Pendants this coming Thursday (4 June). This time around, the price of the piece will reflect the true material value and cover our production costs and we will be donating 25% of proceeds to one of two charities, which you can select when adding to cart.

We want to continue to support the Australian communities affected by the bushfires, so it only feels right to further support the recovery effort by donating to the Salvation Army disaster relief fund.

The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army believe that no one should have to ‘go it’ alone. When a disaster strikes, they are ready to meet people at their point of need. The Salvation Army’s Bushfire Recovery Team’s services include financial assistance and counselling; a dedicated telephone line where workers can assess and deliver material aid; outreach workers embedded in local communities and; caseworkers based in communities to deliver holistic assistance, including financial, emotional and psychological responses.

We also want to extend donations to Beyond Blue, as we face new challenges in this confusing current climate.

Beyond Blue

Beyond Blue's vision is for everyone in Australia to achieve their best possible mental health. Anxiety, depression and suicide affect millions of people around Australia, impacting how they connect with family and friends, thrive at work, and live productive and meaningful lives. Through Beyond Blue's support services, programs, research, advocacy and communication activities, they are breaking down the stigma, prejudice and discrimination that act as barriers to people reaching out for support.

In light of current global events, we have added two new charities to this initiative, USA based Black Lives Matter and closer to home, Yalari - a foundation we have supported in the past directed at educating Indigenous Australian children.

The message behind this symbolic and iconic piece remains the same - it enables us as a brand to support those who need it most and it’s a reminder that with unity, comes resilience and hope.

The Golden Wattle Pendants will go live Thursday 4 June at 12pm, AEST.
