Top 3 NMJ pieces
I love my Nami Studs, Herkimer Diamond Ring and Pear Trio Ring. Each piece has a beautiful story and I enjoy that insight into Natalie’s inspiration.
Top 3 items of clothing
Although I often find myself walking out the door in active wear, I do enjoy dressing up for the occasion. To call out a few of my favourite Assembly Label pieces from the current collection; the Ella Dress, wool ribbed and 100% merino. The Wide Leg Jean for a more casual look paired with a Cardigan or Knit which is perfect for the current cooler weather.
Top 3 books
‘Let My People Go Surfing’ by Yvon Chouinard, ‘Essentialism’ by Greg McKeown and ‘The Tattooist of Auschwitz’ by Heather Morris.
Top 3 ways to relax
I am grateful to live a walk away from the beach and a visit is instantly rewarding. I make a conscious effort to get down there each day, even if it is only for 10 minutes. Sitting down with friends for a meal over the weekend or exercising midweek, especially playing volleyball, are other ways that are sure to help me unwind.
Top 3 holiday destinations
My favourite destination must be Amsterdam. I grew up in the Netherlands and returning includes spending time with those I hold dearest. Nostalgia aside, New York with its high energy and the Amalfi Coast where women are dressed ever so chic.
Top 3 scents
From Mihan Aromatics, both Sienna Brune and Petrichor Plains. This Melbourne based brand is created by husband and wife – Josh and Julia. It is a true product of Australia, with each perfume telling the story of their relationship and adventures in and around Melbourne. I also love wearing Gabrielle by Chanel when I go out.
Top 3 beaches
My favourite beach is Hyams Beach in Jervis Bay. The drive down from Sydney is beautiful and I find myself immediately unwind after a busy week at work. Closer to home, Manly Beach is where I play beach volleyball and often hang out over the weekend. Next is Palm Beach. The view from Barrenjoey Lighthouse is magic looking back over the peninsula and often includes a whale or two towards the horizon. Very special.
Top 3 things in your home
Candles are a constant, photographs of moments that make me smile and my Google Mini make my house a home.
Top 3 mantras you live by
1. Mindset is everything. Reality is subjective in nature. There is nothing that is the absolute truth. It is all just a perception of the mind. And because it is just a perception, is it in your control. Many things in this world are beyond your control, but one thing that is always in your control is your mind and therefore your mindset. Change the way you look at things and the things you look at change.
2. There is no time like the present. We spend a lot of time lost in our thoughts on the past or future (I am learning this!). I try to use this mantra to help my mind snap out of these unconscious meanderings and come to the present moment.
3. Every journey starts with a single step. I use this mantra to remind myself that I can achieve the mightiest tasks if I get started and take it one step at a time. As you keep taking baby steps, you slowly march toward your objective and before long, those baby steps will turn into large strides.
Top 3 moments in the day
The reward of starting the day watching the sun rise, gratitude journaling and a phone call with mum to catch up.
