Let’s start from the beginning, when did you both know it was meant to be?

It’s wild to think that we actually met when we were 12 years old on our first day of high school! We somewhat ran in the same circles and were friendly but not super close until our final two years of high school. We didn’t ever date during our time at school - our relationship actually began the night of our year 12 graduation (and seriously jeopardised our final exam performance) and the rest is history! We think it was around our one year anniversary, which happened to be while we were on our South East Asia gap year trip together, that we felt that it was meant to be and that we were in it this for life!

Georgia, how did Kallen propose to you? What do you remember most about this special moment?

Kallen proposed to me at North Head in Manly, which is where we had our first date in 2015! Except this time he had searched for the perfect secluded spot that required some minor bush bashing to reach. He did a great job of catching me off guard too! My best friend took me for a picnic to this particular spot that she told me she’d been to before, and I was under the impression that Kallen was at work since it was a random Monday and he even went as far as to send me a photo of him at work, so I didn’t suspect a thing. I started to clock on that something was up just as we were walking down the bush path to the spot that Kallen had set up, but for the most part he managed to surprise me! I remember the perfect ocean view, the beautiful picnic set up and his sweet smile and teary eyes - it was truly the most beautiful moment.

Kallen, we’d love to know why you chose NMJ to help create the perfect engagement ring for Georgia. How was your experience and how did you end up with the design that you did?

I had a great experience going through the bespoke process with NMJ. I had Georgia’s best friend to pass on some specific details to me about what Georgia was wanting. The brief was yellow gold, no coloured stones, she liked trio rings or single stone rings, and I was told she was particularly loving Natalie Marie rings - so the rest was up to me! We were both raised in the Northern Beaches so I loved the idea of going local too, it all worked out perfectly. I took all those details and with much help and guidance, was able to design a ring that fit the brief, one that I equally loved and felt reflected her perfectly! I went for a white Sapphire centre stone as that is our shared birthstone, with two smaller marquise diamonds on either side. I also spent lots of time in the bespoke process figuring out the best setting so it would suit her work and not get caught or snagged on anything. It turned out exactly as I imagined and we both couldn’t be happier!

Where and when did you get married - tell us a little about your day!

We got married on the 18th of November 2023 at the Ridge Estate in Peats Ridge, and we couldn’t have dreamed up a more perfect day! The weather for that whole month and every day surrounding had been quite precarious, however when the day came around it was the most perfect mild and sunny day. We were able to have our dream outdoor ceremony in the bush with 90 of our nearest and dearest. The reception was held outside a big open barn, with long banquet style tables under the stars and festoon lights. The speeches were beautiful, and our highlight of the whole day was the dance floor! We had so many pinch-me moments, looking around and seeing our whole community surrounding us, dancing and having the best time for hours and hours. Having a live band definitely kept the vibes high all night long!

Love is so hard to put into words isn’t it! For us, it’s a deep, unconditional bond, and a connection like no other. It requires care, compassion, affection and sacrifice, and it’s the heart and purpose that keeps us all going. The true meaning of life.
