#NMJWorldwide Travel Diary
There is nothing like sharing your travel stories with your friends and family when you return. The highlights, memorable moments and of course, the food! During what was a very exciting couple of weeks, our bespoke team visited San Francisco and New York to take our NMJ bespoke experience overseas for the first time, and have a little bit of a family holiday. Now we can take you on the journey too and share some of the adventures, holiday snaps and how #NMJworldwide came to life!
SAN FRANCISCO
Where we stayed: AirBnB in Cole Valley. This area had an amazing old world feel and our place had the perfect backyard for enjoying the sun and sneaking in a bit of work.
What we ate: We loved Zazie Restaurant right near our AirBnb. Grandeho's Kamekyo was our favourite spot for Japanese on our way home to debrief after busy days. La Bourlangerie was our little French bakery and coffee place which felt like home as we have a local bakery just like it in Avalon.
What we did to relax: Visiting Golden Gate Park became a little ritual for us between appointments and events for a green fix. We were so surprised at how many amazing kids playgrounds there were in SF. San Fran has so many pretty streets and houses which we loved getting lost amongst. We felt very inspired by there architecture there, so many intricately designed buildings with little details such as gold embellishments and lacework.
Favourite places: We had an amazing day driving to Sausalito, over the Golden Gate Bridge. Sausalito had a kind of small fishing village vibe and we had a beautiful lunch at Scoma's right on the water. This was then followed by hours browsing antique jewellery shops and boutiques before we headed back to the city along the windy roads. Speaking of windy roads, we also snuck in a drive down Lombard Street, a must-do!
Willa's pick: definitely Tantrum Toy Store!
Friday Night: To mark the beginning of our #NMJworldwide adventure, we hosted a Meet and Greet at No.3 Shop, our venue for the weekend. This was a fun and casual event with champagne and treats of course!
Weekend at No.3 for our NMJ Bespoke Appointments: Saturday and Sunday saw us have back-to-back appointments throughout the day, meeting new clients and also seeing some familiar faces! The days were filled with lots of creativity and special moments, especially as it was our first time introducing clients to our bespoke boxes which allowed them to mix and match different designs, and view our entire wedding band collection. We even treated all our clients with An Organised Life x Together Journal Wedding Planner to celebrate the occasion.
NEW YORK:
Where we stayed: Airbnb in the East Village
What we ate: Em arrived a few hours earlier in New York and headed straight to The Penny Farthing which was a great bar/restaurant. One of our favourite dinners was at Aurora Brooklyn, where we ate in their garden. We of course ate at The Butcher's Daughter and also enjoyed an end of trip celebratory drink at a rooftop bar called Lastlight at Sister City.
What we did to relax: We really enjoyed exploring Brooklyn and Soho, escepcailly the diversity and calibre of inspiring retail spaces. We discovered so many shops full of innovation and interesting elements which felt very unique to the area and unlike anything we have seen back home.
Favourite moment: We had been working with our bespoke clients Ted on his dream ring for fiancé Emma and while we were in New York, we had the pleasure of hand-delivering the stunning signature solitaire with an iconic New York back drop and photographer to capture the special moment!
Saturday at Grace Loves Lace for our NMJ Bespoke Appointments: We spent Saturday surrounded by future brides and stunning dresses at Grace Loves Lace - such an amazing atmosphere for our first day of appointments in New York! We met more amazing clients and helped them bring their designs to life and help guide them through the process which was so nice to do face-to-face just like we were in Avalon!
We have to mention Gourmet Garage which was just around the corner and kept us sustained all day long with their amazing food.
Sunday at Concrete + Water for our last day of NMJ Bespoke Appointments: A change of pace and scenery for our last day of appointments, we popped-up at Concrete + Water in Brooklyn, a very cool boutique nestled in Williamsburg. It was lovely to meet not only clients who booked in to see us, but also meet some locals who walked-in. We gave away the last of our goodie bags which we gifted every client throughout the trip, filled with little gifts from some of our favourite Australian brands (Go-To, Sienna Byron Bay, Posie Candles, Mukti and Byron Bay Tea Company) and took some time to do a little shopping at Concrete + Water - so many nice things!
And that's a wrap! We had the best time and really enjoyed bringing our little NMJ world overseas for the first time. Now the only question is, where to next?
