NMJ Lovers | Fraser & Victoria

We would like to introduce you to Fraser & Victoria, our latest bride and groom. We had the pleasure of working with this lovely couple to create their wedding bands. We caught up with Fraser & Victoria post wedding, as they shared their story with NMJ and a little about their process in creating the perfect wedding bands.

How did you both meet?

Fraser: We met on Tinder of all things. Our first date was the 19th April 2015, about 2 weeks after we started messaging.

Victoria: Big, bad Tinder.

Where and when did you get married - tell us a little about your day?

Fraser: We got married at Borrodel Vinyard on Mount Canobolas in Orange, on the 17th March this year. A Small-ish wedding with 60 guests, the weather was a perfect 32 degrees, the whole day couldn't have gone any better.  We even had roos hopping around on the lawn during the speeches. I did sing to Victoria (L.O.V.E by Nat King Cole) during my best man speech which took her by surprise a bit, but that was kind of the point!

Victoria: We tried to keep it simple: good company, good food and wine and a stunning location with fun, colourful flowers and classic (cheesy...) dance music!

What was the highlight?

Fraser: For me it was seeing Victoria walk down the aisle in her dress. Victoria had the dress custom made from her own design, and I had no idea what to expect. She looked breathtaking, and that was my highlight. Victoria's will no doubt be seeing her dashing and handsome husband so no need to ask her...That said, the whole day was pretty much a highlight.

Victoria: Seeing my handsome and dashing husband of course...

We had such a happy, fun day, it was really special to be able to share it with family and friends, all of whom had made such an effort to be there with us.

Tell us about your NMJ rings, what did that process look like?

Fraser: We had Emma design a custom ring for Victoria. Her engagement ring was her grandmother's so it is an antique and an unusual design. We had a meeting where we discussed options and she made a suggestion we ended up going with where the Australian sapphires would fade in their colour as they moved outwards from the central stone. She kept us in the loop the whole time, and we got the rings within the time frame she'd given, so pretty much a perfect process. Great communication, friendly service and excellent presentation.

Victoria: My engagement ring was originally my grandmother’s and is an old art deco design. We talked through several options and custom made was the best one. Going bespoke opened up possibilities we hadn’t even considered before, my Mother’s ring is aquamarine so I was thrilled to be able to get some blue stones to echo that, the fact that they are Australian sapphires make it even more personal.

Fraser threatened to get a titanium ring to keep the costs down, luckily we persuaded him to try on the NMJ rings and opt for the classic white gold band. A wedding ring is like a haircut, you’re going to wear it every day and you should love it!

What drew you to Natalie Marie for your wedding pieces? What do your rings mean to you?

Fraser: I was working with Dan and Natalie and so was lucky enough to gain an insight into the business. What struck me about them both was their passion for what they do and the care that went into their products. I liked the fact that the products weren't traditionally commercial and had an unusualness to the design that really stood out. More than that, I trusted NMJ. I trusted them to understand what we wanted, I trusted them to do a good a job, I trusted them to quote a fair price, and I trusted them to deliver on time. Our rings symbolise our marriage, so they mean a lot. The fact that Victoria's is one of a kind and blends with a 90-year-old diamond engagement ring whilst still being modern is amazing.

I think when you buy a ring, especially a custom one from NMJ you buy an experience as much as you do a product, and it's worth every cent.

Victoria: Fraser suggested NMJ because he had worked with them previously. I looked at their (fabulous) website and loved the style of jewellery they make. Our rings are a daily reminder that we actually made this commitment!
