THESE HANDS

These Hands | Madison

These hands belong to Madison, Head of Production here at Natalie Marie Jewellery. Known for her big heart and quick wit! Madi has been with the team since the early days as an intern, find out more about our Head of Production below...

Who do these hands belong to?

Madison - Head of Production.

What is your role at Natalie Marie Jewellery and how long have you been part of the team?

I have been a part of this gorgeous family for almost 3 years. I manage and oversee the production of all online orders however beyond this my role is quite fluid. I occasionally assist with managing sections of wholesale production as well as across some bespoke pieces. In this sense it's hard to define my role succinctly. I also enjoy getting on the bench to help create orders when possible.

Has your role changed since you started?

I have been fortunate enough to have a continually evolving role at Natalie Marie Jewellery. I began as an intern assisting with administrative tasks until I was able to begin work as a Jeweller. From there I then took on the responsibilities of Online Manager which has grown into my current role, Head of Production.

What is your most treasured piece of jewellery?

It’s hard to pick just one! I adore my signet ring that I created for myself and my brothers incorporating our family initials and the florals of our families background. While this holds a very special place in my heart my most treasured piece would be an ornate heart ring with a small blue sapphire given to me by my grandmother, Yvonne. I like knowing she’s with me everyday.

What is your favourite Natalie Marie piece?

My current favourite day-to-day piece would be the Ash ring, the petite diamond adds a perfect little hint of sparkle.

When did you first come across Natalie Marie Jewellery?

I stumbled upon the Instagram page whilst at university studying jewellery and object design and loved that it was a Northern Beaches and locally made brand.

Coffee or tea? How do you take it?

Tea!! With one sugar and almond milk please! If I’m drinking a coffee...something is up haha.

Beach, City or Mountains?

All of the above if I can! I’m just as content laying on the beach in the sun as I am wondering around the city in amongst the buildings and chaos or with some skis on the slopes. They all sound like bliss!

What advice would you give to anyone considering to be a jeweller?

Always remember that you will never stop learning and always strive to better your skills and evolve.

What inspires you?

The forms, textures and movement found in nature.

If you were not working at Natalie Marie, what would you be doing?

This is a question I often ask myself and I’m very grateful that I have become a part of this team and industry as I just can’t imagine doing anything else.

What are you currently reading?

I’m currently reading 'The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest’ as well as the ‘Barefoot Investor’. A little something for both sides of my brain!

Describe your perfect day...

It would consist of a breakfast by the sea in the sun, a bunch of flowers, loved ones, cookies and pyjamas! Perfection.

Describe yourself in 5 words?

Dedicated, strong-willed, thoughtful, fun(hopefully) and little bit goofy.

What are you most grateful for?

I am most grateful for my family - this also extends to my friends, my beautiful boyfriend and my work family. I am surrounded by the most wonderful people who help shape who I am.

What is the best piece of advice you've been given?

Something I always refer back to is something my dad told me, never do anything in life that you don’t want to do and do what you love to the best of your ability.

If you were a dessert, what would you be?

A brownie - cheeky, sweet and a little bit nutty!

What is your least known talent?

I have been known to play a great game of pool.

If you could share a pot of tea with anyone, who would it be?

I’d like to have tea with my Grandma, Betty Frost (I know right, amazing name), as she passed away when I was young and lived in the UK. She sounds like the most wonderfully creative lady and I’d liked to talk to her about her life and art.

What is on your wish list right now?

More RM Williams boots! Boots are my go to shoe for the studio.
